Bringing the Outside In

There’s something about nature that inspires us to create. It evokes our emotions and wakes up our senses. So, whether it’s the warmth of wood or the texture of stone, design a space that speaks to you. That’s right, it’s time to bring the outside in.

So just how do you accomplish that? Depending on your project, there are a few key components that’ll make it easy.

TEXTURE
If you’ve been paying attention to design over the last few years, you’ll see that texture has played a large role in many interior design schemes. It has added character and depth to many of the products that we see in our industry today… from backsplashes and countertops to flooring and home interiors. Some of our manufacturers are now making products specifically designed to be light-weight and easy to install for walls, doors, and ceilings, giving consumers that “barn wood” look without taking down the barn.

COLOR
Nature inspired colors can be incorporated into almost any room in your home. From the earthy grays of river stone and the worn-weathered hues of wood, using a variety of natural elements together bring the focus not only contexture, but color. If you’re bold enough, go for the fiery reds of a beautiful sunset or a the brilliant blues of an ocean wave.

DESIGN
Looking for a recipe to design a beautifully inspired space? Combine a dash of texture and a splash of color, mixed with a little nature-inspired design and you’ll have the icing on the cake. Design is the component that brings it all together. It can even be as simple as adding a beautiful plant to the focal point of your room… that alone can be as impactful as a piece or artwork.

By bringing the outside in, you’re bringing life to your space. So, be as creative as you want! Be bold and daring or quiet and serene… it’s your sanctuary.
