Fall is in the Air

One of our favorite times of the year is finally here: FALL! With fall comes pumpkins, all the cozy candles, and beautiful weather to enjoy with your family and friends. It’s also the time of year that everyone brings out all their favorite home decor. If you need a little inspiration in how to decorate your space to welcome the new season, check out some of our suggestions!

Pumpkins and Pinecones
Pumpkins are the most favored item when it comes to fall decor. They are so fun to decorate with and there are so many different ways to use them. If you want to use them in your kitchen, consider placing them on a decorative tray to be displayed on your countertop or dining table. This is a great idea if you want minimal fall decor in the space! If you want to use pumpkins in your living room, you can scatter them along a mantle, down a coffee table, or place them on side tables. There’s several sizes and colors to pick from, so choose whichever makes you the happiest! You really can’t go wrong when decorating with pumpkins.

Pinecones are another instant go-to when planning for fall decor. Like pumpkins, they’re an easy and affordable way to bring nature indoors. Pinecones are perfect for a centerpiece or simply placed in a basket. You can find pinecones at your local grocery or craft store, but most gather them from outside. Before you start decorating with them, make sure you treat them so that they’re completely dried and rid of dirt and bugs. Once preheated to 200 degrees, line a cookie sheet with aluminum foil and place the pinecones on it in the oven for about 30 minutes or until the cones have fully opened. The heat will kill any and all bugs, as well as melt any sap present on the pinecones. Make sure this process doesn’t go unsupervised; you don’t want the pinecones to start smoking or catch on fire. Once taken out of the oven, let them sit for a couple days and then they will be good for decorating or crafting!

Fall Centerpieces
Sometimes you don’t need a massive centerpiece to welcome in the new season. Less is more! Add several cotton stalks, wheat stalks, corn husks, and even berries to a vase, jar, or canister of choice. This simple approach makes for a stunning addition to your space. Adding pumpkins, candles, acorns, and or faux leaves is also a great a choice to incorporate in your centerpiece!

If a more detailed centerpiece is what you desire, go for it! Just make sure that there’s not so much going on that you overwhelm the space. You can find all you need to create that perfect fall centerpiece at your local craft stores or outdoors.

Welcoming Guests
With fall weather comes family, guests, and get-togethers. Decorating your front porch is another area that can use a little fall decor. There are so many decor options when it comes to this spot of your home. Hanging a fall wreath on your door, placing pumpkins and mums in the perfect spot, setting those old-fashioned scarecrows up, and adding a hay bell or two are a few suggestions for decorating your front porch for this new season!

Don’t be afraid to switch up your decor if you want a fresh look in your space. So get cozy under your blanket, light your favorite fall candle, or go enjoy the crisp autumn air. It’s fall y’all!!
